THOUGHT LEADERSHIP
The CIC regularly invites accomplished Indian and global personalities to share experiences and vision in their respective area of expertise. A diverse and strong group of professionals, entrepreneurs, academicians, environmentalists, administrators, media persons, and historians dedicated towards contributing to shaping the economic, social, and political gradient of India form the backbone of CIC. Since its inception in 2016, the
CIC has hosted more than 150 events featuring a wide gamut of thought leaders across a plethora of domains. In quantitative terms, this represents 2800 faculty hours and over 28000 learning hours since 2016. The footage of these events available on YouTube is a standing testimony to the quality of the intellectual leadership that the CIC has provided.

PHILOSOPHY PRIVATELY ENABLED PUBLIC PURPOSE
The underlying philosophy of the organization is to promote the public good through private philanthropy. The five pillars that support the CIC edifice are Public Education, Promoting Art, Culture, and Heritage, Protecting the Environment and ensuring its
Sustainability, Propagating Scientific Temper through Technology, and Innovation, and Proactive Civil Society with Public Authorities for Public Good.
OUR JOURNEY SO FAR
The extensive stakeholder interactions on diverse themes from 2016 have yielded unique insights that are guiding present action. The first and most valuable among these is the realization that the availability of permanent infrastructure is imperative and critical to enable the organization to carry out its functions effectively and realize its full potential. The second is the recognition that it is necessary to create an institutional base for the philosophical pillars to ensure sustainability. Lastly, the aspiration to translate thought into action and implement projects that would be an enduring contribution to Chennai and its people. The CIC intends to expand its activities to implement CSR projects aimed at improving the civic infrastructure of Chennai.
THE WAY FORWARD
With a view to achieving the above, the CIC proposes to develop best-in-class infrastructure to support its objectives. As a first step, it has acquired 11 Grounds of land in the heart of Chennai in Abhiramapuram, Mylapore. This has been possible due to the munificent contribution of several corporate citizens and Trusts of Chennai. The proposal is to erect an iconic state-of-the-art green building to house a Presentation Hall, ,
Amphitheatre, Conference Halls, Virtual Reality (VR) Studio, Library, and Foyer. The vision is to provide Chennai with an iconic landmark which will be rooted in its heritage but would reflect its soaring ambition to be a vibrant world-class cit
AN ICON OF CHENNAI
The proposal is to build approximately fifty thousand square feet (50,000 sq ft) of building space. The entire building will embrace tenets of sustainable design with an emphasis on resource conservation, energy efficiency and the promotion of building durability. It will aspire to be LEED Gold or Platinum certified. The infrastructure and amenities will facilitate a technology-enabled
international environment.
The structure, facade, presence, and identity of the building will be welcoming and serve as a space where intellectuals, independent public-spirited leaders of the world can confidently discourse curious and adventurous thoughts within its confines. A building that creates many new ideas that advance the human spirit and the world order. The vision is to build a visually striking and impressive campus, which helps create an inspiring and stimulating environment. In brief, it will be a building that celebrates Chennai, its youth and its innovative energy and its intellectualism in all aspects of life.
